The Ekka is the annual show of Queensland and the first ever show was held in 1921. The formal title is the Royal Queensland Show, and it is held at the Brisbane Showgrounds. Over the last 8 weeks, residents at Seabrae Manor Aged Care has been producing a special art project. They have been busy working around the clock by colouring, painting and cutting over 260 feathers to create a beautiful set of Angel inspired wings. This activity allows staff and family members to nominate a worthy staff member, who has gone out of their way, showed a little extra kindness, or made a difference in somebody else’s life. Seabrae Manor Aged Care recently celebrated Waitangi Day. This is New Zealand’s National Day and a public Holiday, similar to our Australia Day. Waitangi Day commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi back on the 6th February 1840. The Memory Lane Bus Stop is an addition to our Memory Lane Store. The store was created for residents who suffer from Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
