Life at Seabrae Manor Aged Care in June 2026: dancing, creating and exploring together

Seabrae Manor Aged Care had a June to remember – from a day out at the Redcliffe RSL to opal fossicking, brass band performances, a resident-led card making group and a blindfold taste test that had everyone in stitches.

A day out at the Redcliffe RSL

We packed up and headed to the Redcliffe RSL for a wonderful afternoon of good food, live entertainment and great company. The meal was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and – best of all – some of us couldn’t resist getting up to join the entertainer on the dance floor. The smiles and laughter said it all. Days like this remind us how much joy a change of scenery and a bit of music can bring.

The dancing didn’t stop at the RSL. Back home, our residents took to the dance floor at Seabrae Manor – and what a sight it was. Movement and music go hand in hand here, and watching everyone come alive on the dance floor was one of those moments that stays with you.

The Ye Old Brass Band visits

We were treated to a wonderful live performance by the Ye Old Brass Band, whose lively music had feet tapping and memories flooding back. For many of us, the songs stirred up cherished moments from years gone by. There is something truly special about live music in a room full of people who love it, and our residents soaked up every note.

Thelma’s card making group

One of June’s most heartwarming highlights came courtesy of our very own resident Thelma, who took the initiative to start a card making group at Seabrae Manor. Residents gathered around the table to create beautiful handmade cards – a wonderful opportunity to be creative, exercise fine motor skills and enjoy some social time together. Thelma’s enthusiasm and gentle guidance made the afternoon a real success. The cards were absolutely beautiful.

Fossicking for opals at Down Under Opals

We took a bus trip with a difference this month, heading out to Down Under Opals to try our hand at opal fossicking. Residents enjoyed the fresh air, the scenery and the thrill of searching through rocks in hopes of uncovering something beautiful. There was plenty of great company along the way, and a few sparkling finds to show for the effort.

The blindfold taste test challenge

June wrapped up with plenty of laughs during our blindfold taste testing challenge. Residents put their taste buds to the test with everything from sweet treats to tangy surprises – and the guesses were absolutely hilarious. Activities like this are a brilliant way to stimulate the senses, spark reminiscing and, most importantly, fill the room with laughter.
