Seabrae Manor Aged Care in July 2026: games, outings and music

Seabrae Manor Aged Care had a warm and lively month, filled with friendly competition, a seaside outing, cultural celebrations and a touching moment of music and memory.

Farewell to two treasured team members

We said a fond farewell to two much loved members of our team this month. Our residents gathered to thank a wonderful nurse for her years of compassion and dedication, and to wish a happy retirement to our maintenance officer, who kept our home running smoothly for so long. It was a bittersweet moment, filled with gratitude and warm wishes for the road ahead.

NAIDOC week celebrations

Our residents came together to celebrate culture, creativity and connection during NAIDOC week. Everyone got creative designing and decorating their own boomerangs and watercolour artwork, with each piece reflecting the artist’s own personal style. It was a joyful way to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

The magic of music therapy

There is something truly special about the power of music. During one of our music therapy sessions, a familiar tune brought back beautiful memories for one of our residents, a former champion ballroom dancer, who began to dance with her walker as the music played. Moments like these remind us how deeply music connects us to our memories.

A seaside trip to Shorncliffe

We packed up the bus for a wonderful day out at Shorncliffe. Residents enjoyed a delicious lunch of fresh fish and chips by the waterfront while watching the boats drift across the bay. For many, the outing brought back fond memories of seaside trips from their younger years.

Commonwealth Games fun and games

Our residents had a fantastic time celebrating the Commonwealth Games with some friendly sporting fun. There was plenty of smiles, laughter and great sportsmanship as everyone took part in games like tennis and shot put, cheering each other on all the way. Medals were presented to our winners, with congratulations all round for such great effort.
