The month of May at Seabrae Manor Aged Care was marked by celebration, connection and creativity. From milestone birthdays to market day fun and artistic inspiration, our residents enjoyed a rich calendar of experiences that fostered community spirit and personal expression.
A Buzzing Morning at the Mini Market
We kicked off May with a bustling Seabrae Manor Mini Market. Residents enjoyed browsing through the stalls, chatting with each other, and purchasing handmade treasures. A special thank you to Peta for showcasing her beautiful craft items and to resident Thelma, whose handmade cards were a crowd favourite. It was a delightful morning that brought everyone together.
Honouring a 99-Year Legacy and 65 Years of Love
This month, we celebrated the remarkable 99th birthday of Des, a resident admired for his warmth, kindness and quiet support for others. Just a few days later, we toasted Jack and Pat on their 65th wedding anniversary — a rare and wonderful milestone that speaks to a lifetime of love and partnership.
Mother’s Day with Heart
Mother’s Day was beautifully marked with a morning tea in the courtyard, complete with treats, conversation and a special raffle. We thank all who contributed, purchased tickets, and helped make the event one to remember.
Green Thumbs and Garden Joy
Resident Irene, one of our gardening enthusiasts, spent time planting snapdragons and petunias this May. Her love of gardening continues to add colour and joy to our shared spaces — and inspires others to get their hands in the soil.
More Special Celebrations
We also celebrated Betty’s birthday this month, with time spent surrounded by her family. These personal milestones are always cherished at Seabrae, and we are honoured to be part of such meaningful moments in our residents’ lives.
Exploring Art and Resilience
In a moving and creative workshop, residents took inspiration from the art of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Known for her dotted pumpkin motifs and unwavering creativity at age 97, Kusama’s story encouraged our residents to reflect on perseverance and self-expression. Their own artworks were a proud result of a very thoughtful afternoon.
The Joy of Fresh Air
Whether it’s a courtyard chat or a garden stroll, fresh air remains a treasured part of life at Seabrae Manor Aged Care. It’s a simple pleasure that always lifts the spirits.
