Seabrae Manor celebrates its first birthday in style!

When it comes to hosting celebrations, the staff and residents at Seabrae Manor Aged Care sure know how to walk the walk.

As Seabrae Manor sailed past its first year celebration, CEO Andrew Meek joined the proud staff and residents to host a celebration to remember.

“We spent a lot of time decorating the home with balloons and other decorations and also organised a wonderful first birthday cake,” says Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator, Trish Wadsworth-Bell.

The fantastic afternoon of events included a sausage sizzle and entertainment from a much-loved singer and guitarist who had the residents up off their seats and toe-tapping their way through the afternoon.

Mr Meek extended his appreciation to all the staff for working together as a team, their personal contribution and for creating such a welcoming place in which the residents are proud to call home.

“We’ve put a lot of energy into establishing our own traditions here at Seabrae Manor and this was a celebration for both staff and residents alike,” says Mr Meek.

The afternoon saw each team member recognized for their contribution to the community.

Ms Wadsworth-Bell added that each month, the community awards the Random Act of Kindness honour to a team member who is recognised by their peers and residents.

During the afternoon, team member Robert Tagliaro was nominated for his great positive attitude in the workplace. Mr Meek presented the award and the happy team member walked away with an ipad.

The home was designed by Smith + Tracey Architects to create a modern ‘open’ feel with the emphasis on a sense of community. A key feature is that the lounge and dining areas open up to a landscaped, outdoor entertainment area for residents to easy access and enjoy.

There are spacious single and shared rooms with floor to ceiling windows to maximise natural light.

“The home has been very popular amongst the community and we all look forward to celebrating many more memorable birthdays in years to come” said Mr Meek.
