Seabrae Manor aged care community: April 2026
April marked a milestone month for the Seabrae Manor aged care community - one that will be remembered long after the Easter decorations came down and the raffle tickets were drawn. The opening of Chapman House gave the whole community something to stand still for, while the rest of the month carried on in the warm, connected way that has always defined life here.
Chapman House is open
This is the moment the Seabrae Manor aged care community has been building toward, and it arrived in April with quiet pride and genuine emotion.
Chapman House is open.
Our first residents have settled in and are already making it their own - bringing with them the stories, personalities, and rhythms of daily life that will shape this space into something real. That process has already begun, and it is a pleasure to witness.
Chapman House takes its name from Janet Chapman, a long-serving leader whose work quietly shaped the way we care for people at Seabrae Manor. It is a name chosen with real thought and real gratitude - a recognition that the values underpinning the care we offer did not appear by accident. They were built, over many years, by people like Janet.
To our new residents and their families: welcome home.
Easter hat parade and raffle
Easter brought colour, creativity, and a great deal of competitive spirit to Seabrae Manor. Earlier in the week, residents got to work in a craft session designing and making their own Easter hats - and the results were spectacular. The Easter Hat Parade that followed was a riot of colour and imagination, with a very well-deserved congratulations going to Rhonda, who took out the top prize.
The Easter Raffle draw was another highlight, with a special mention for Neville, who went above and beyond - selling over 300 tickets. That kind of generosity and community spirit is exactly what makes Seabrae Manor what it is. Thank you to everyone who supported the raffle.
Easter morning tea and a visit from the Easter Bunny
Residents also enjoyed a lovely Easter morning tea, complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny and some delightful Easter presents. It was a gentle, joyful way to mark the occasion - and one that had smiles appearing across every corner of the room.
A week of waterfront, music, and happy hour
Mid-month brought a beautifully full week of activities. Residents enjoyed a picnic on the waterfront, which offered fresh air, lovely scenery, and the easy pleasure of being somewhere beautiful with good company. Music therapy and a watercolour class added creative and restorative moments to the week, before Friday Happy Hour entertainment rounded things off in fine style.
April was a month the Seabrae Manor aged care community will not forget in a hurry. Chapman House stands as the most visible reminder of what this community is capable of - but the Easter hats, the waterfront picnic, and the quiet pleasure of a Friday afternoon well spent all tell the same story. This is a place where life is lived with warmth, intention, and care.
