After watching the devastating impact of the bushfires around the country, an emotional resident Doreen Thompson asked the question “how can we help them?” From that simple question, the “Fiver for the Fire Appeal” morning tea was organised.
A cuppa and a cake, fancy dress and lots of fun was held on the 21st November 2019. Together the residents, staff and families raised $555.05. The generous Aussie spirit is alive and well at Seabrae Manor Aged Care.
We invited the wonderful team from Narangba Rural Emergency Fire Services, Lachlan and Tony to a special morning tea, where Doreen presented them with our donation. They spent the morning with our residents, enjoyed a lovely morning tea and shared their stories with us, and then invited the residents to inspect the fire truck and take photos. We would like to thank the Fire Services around the country and volunteers for their amazing efforts and hard work during this hard time.
